Sprint Wins MPLS Award in a Blowout
Some head-to-head contests are close matches, and some are blowouts. Sprint’s win in the MPLS services category of the Nemertes 2009 Pilothouse Awards was a blowout. And we haven’t stopped smiling since the results were announced.
Nemertes Research Group is a respected industry analyst firm, and their Pilothouse awards are among the best because they are truly the “users’ choice.” Nemertes surveyed nearly 1,400 IT decision makers, and asked them to rate Sprint and its competitors in the areas of value, customer service, technology, and network reliability.
As even Nemertes put it, based on the results, Sprint is “knocking the socks off the competition” when it comes to MPLS services. They used words like “exceptional” to describe Sprint’s performance, and said we set a “new high water mark” for MPLS service providers.
Sprint swept the value, customer service, and technology categories, won top honors overall, and outpaced out key competitors in IP network reliability.
There’s not much doubt left in those results. Among the reasons Nemertes cited were Sprint advantages such as a broad range of connection options for customers, from xDSL to 10 Gbps to wireless WANs via Data Link. Also, to quote Nemertes, Sprint “surpasses almost all other providers with seven classes of service supporting all MPLS service offerings.”
Layering frosting on the cake, Nemertes observed that considering the complexity of deploying and managing an MPLS network, the “orchestration of delivering high-quality service takes an organization with excellent coordination of customer service and reliability.” Who did the survey respondents single out in terms of these capabilities? You guessed it.
Sprint wins lots of awards, but the Pilothouse Awards, because they are based on user surveys, really do validate our MPLS strategy. We consider MPLS an infinitely flexible and scalable network foundation. Being able to do so much (converging all voice, video, and data) over a single IP connection pays off for enterprises by reducing costs, pumping up productivity, and streamlining today’s networks. It is also the key that unlocks the door to Unified Communications and other next generation technologies.
So while our competitors are out looking for their socks, Sprint will just keep on doing what we have been doing: delivering the best MPLS technology and customer service to enterprises.
