We Open Wide, and You Say “Ahhh Haaa”

When does “open” really mean what it promises? This fall, Sprint is hosting the ninth annual Sprint Open Developer Conference, the first truly open conference, which takes place in Santa Clara, California, October 26-28, and it will deliver. Go here for conference details.

This is a big step for Sprint, opening the network to both enterprise-employed developers, our developers and independents, all with the goal of leveraging mobility for customized applications that suit specific, individualized business needs. From location-based services (LBS) to taking advantage of 4G capabilities and machine-to-machine communications, this event is designed to pull open the network curtain and let enterprises ponder the possibilities.

It’s an evolutionary path, because once you – as individuals and as enterprises – start working remotely, you start to think about what other kinds of business you can do away from the office to be increasingly efficient. Developers, of course, are the bridges between your “what if we could ….” concepts and the eventual applications that make them real. Just think – you can use your mobile phone (powered by Sprint Mobile Integration) to work on a business application while away from the office, effectively allowing you to be more productive ‘on the road’.

The conference itself serves as a single event for learning about all of Sprint’s product and network capabilities, from mobile device software platforms to network and product service features such as LBS, messaging, call control, services middleware, 4G and more. For enterprise representatives, it offers a chance to network with Sprint executives and partners and really understand the Sprint Application Developer Program. Whether your company has its own application developers or whether you are looking for someone to help make your mobility application a reality, the 2009 Sprint Open Developer Conference is the place to start.

To encourage enterprise involvement, we’re waiving the entrance fee for attendees representing enterprise customers. To obtain a free pass to the event, send an email to SprintADP@sprint.com with your Enterprise name, contact name, email, phone number and Sprint sales account manager name.
