Blackberry Tour (9630): Best from Blackberry since the Curve?

The short answer is an emphatic YES.

RIM is getting back to its roots after straying off the path with the Blackberry Storm for Verizon. It’s not that the Storm performed poorly for RIM – clearly, they sold a lot of units. But the buzz and user experience fell short of the Pearl & Curve.

Before the arrival of the iPhone, you would have found the Pearl & Curve models at the top of anyone’s favorite smartphone/PDA list. Even today they probably still rank among the top five. (more…)

With the release of Palm Pre last week I was all set to write my obligatory Pre review full of deserved flowery expressions and general fanboy gushing, but realized so many have already gone before me that it may be worth taking a quick scan of Internet reviews to find the best quotes about Palm Pre.  My focus was on the usual blogosphere technophile suspects to see what they had to say about Pre.  Let’s start with Messrs. Pre Deserves its Post-Announcement Buzz

The summer is already shaping up to be a hot one for mobile users and now Sprint and Palm are turning up the heat early with the release-date announcement of Pre. The Internet rumor mill has been busy since Palm’s award winning debut of Pre at CES. Even an Apple fanboy will have to admit that Pre has an impressive pedigree. (more…)
