You have to love independent surveys. I can stand up in front of customers all day and tell them how good a job Sprint is doing, but they tend to discount what I say since I work for Sprint. You can’t really blame them; they hear that from everybody. So it’s great when a third-party survey – particularly one done by two well-respected organizations – comes along and makes the point. Months of planning and deploying Unified Communications within a company the size of Sprint continually pushes us to examine what we have learned. We have learned many important lessons and by sharing them, hope to make things easier for others embarking on UC initiatives. (more…)

Rolling out UC to a company with 50,000 employees and contractors isn’t something you do overnight. Currently, we are almost 50% complete and it has been a very successful first year. (more…)

The initial phase of Sprint’s migration to UC leveraged what we learned from the early adopters, which we talked about in my last post. These people provided excellent feedback as to the quality of the communications tools and their ease of adoption. We learned a lot from our pilot group, everything from which headsets worked the best, to  optimal laptop settings and the best setup for home-based workers. This information helped us clean up our deployment processes and fill platform gaps.
